Cedric J. Johnson of Richmond County has more than 20 years of professional experience in the banking industry. After earning a degree in business administration from Morehouse College, he began his banking career at Bankers First in Augusta, where he became vice president and branch manager during his 15-year tenure (1981 to 1996). Johnson served as president of Bankers First’s Minority Business Development Corporation of Augusta before becoming vice president and branch manager of Regions Bank/Allied Bank. Since 2000, Johnson has served as vice president and office manager of First Bank of Georgia in Augusta. A former chairman of Augusta Technical College’s Board of Directors, Johnson sits on the Board of Directors for Doctor’s Hospital, the Board of Directors for the Augusta Neighborhood Improvement Corporation and the CSRA Regional Development Corporation. Currently, he is chairman of the Workforce Investment Board.
Mr. Johnson was appointed to the State Board by Governor Sonny Perdue in 2003 and serves on the State Board’s Adult Education Committee, the Facilities and Real Estate Committee and serves as Chairman of the Appeals Committee.
