L. McGrath Keen, Jr. is director of Capital City Bank Group and president of L.P. Keen Insurance Agency. Previously, he served as the president of Farmers & Merchants Bank. He is a past chairman of the Dublin City Board of Education, past director and vice president of the Dublin-Laurens Chamber of Commerce, former president of the Laurens County Historical Society and former president of the Dublin Rotary Club. Keen attended Auburn University and Middle Georgia College and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Georgia Southern University. He and his wife, Cindy, have two children.
Mr. Keen was appointed to the State Board in 2005 by Governor Sonny Perdue. He is currently serving on the State Board’s Academic Standards and Programs and Audit and Compliance Committees.
