Mary Flanders of Savannah is a career teacher who has served in schools in west Georgia as well as South Carolina. She has worked in the home building industry for 10 years and has served on the boards of various clubs and societies. Flanders has an undergraduate degree in home economics education. She has two children.
Ms. Flanders was appointed to the State Board in 2003 by Governor Sonny Perdue as an At Large Representative. She chairs the Adult Education Committee and serves on the External Affairs and Economic Development Committee. She also chaired the Facilities and Real Estate Committee.
