Fannin County to Become Part of North Georgia Tech's Service Delivery Area

Atlanta – TCSG Commissioner Ron Jackson has announced that Fannin County will become part of the North Georgia Technical College service delivery area (SDA).

Jackson informed the state board that oversees the Technical College System of Georgia of his decision during the board’s monthly meeting at the TCSG headquarters in Atlanta.

Fannin County is currently in the Appalachian Technical College SDA.  The move to the North Georgia Tech SDA will become effective on January 1, 2009.

North Georgia Technical College has its main campus in Clarkesville along with two additional campuses in Blairsville and Toccoa.  The college’s SDA covers Franklin, Habersham, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union and White counties.

Last year, North Georgia Technical College enrolled 3,311 students in its certificate, degree and diploma programs.   Many more students took part in the college’s adult education, continuing education and workforce training programs.
