Atlanta – Six Technical College System of Georgia colleges have been named in two categories of the top fifty fastest-growing public two-year colleges in the nation in an annual analysis by Community College Week Magazine. The magazine based its report on the percentage of enrollment change among 1,153 colleges in the period between fall 2006 and fall 2007. Among the colleges with enrollments of between 2,500 and 4,999 students, Griffin Technical College was the 4th-fastest growing two-year college in the nation with a growth rate of 22.7% Other TCSG colleges that in that category were West Central Technical College, with campuses in Waco, Carrollton, Douglasville and Newnan (ranked 8th with 17.3% growth), Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville (20th with 12.6% growth), Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins (28th with 10.6% growth), and Columbus Technical College (47th with 8.3% growth). East Central Technical College with campuses in Fitzgerald, Douglas and Rochelle was the 29th-fastest growing institution among two-year colleges with enrollments of 2,500 or less.
