TCSGs Dr. Nichole Kennedy Elected Secretary of Georgia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers

Dr. Nichole Kennedy, the executive director of student affairs for the Technical College System of Georgia, has been elected to be the secretary of the Georgia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (GACRAO) for 2010.  She was chosen by her professional peers during the association’s 57th annual meeting held at the Augusta Marriott on October 11-13, 2009.

GACRAO is composed of higher education professionals from more than 100 admissions and records departments at public and private colleges and universities located throughout the state of Georgia. The association works to advance the professional goals of its members through the dissemination of information and the interchange of ideas on problems of common interest to higher education.

The newly-elected executive committee of the GACRAO consists of President Clint Hobbs, the vice president of enrollment management at Young Harris College; President-Elect Dr. Angela Evans, the director of admissions at Kennesaw State University; Immediate Past-President Mack Palmour, the director of admissions at Gainesville State College; Treasurer Scott Argo, the assistant director of admissions at Augusta State University; and Dr. Kennedy.

Members at large are David Booze, the associate registrar at Spellman College; Melanie Mirande, the director of operations for enrollment management at Armstrong Atlantic State University; and Jennifer Brannon, the director of admissions and registrar at Middle Georgia College.  Professional access & equity will be represented by Tara Askew, the executive director for student affairs at Columbus Technical College.  The local arrangements chair is James Johnson, Jr., the director of admissions at DeKalb Technical College’s Covington Campus.
