Atlanta/Lafayette – Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Ron Jackson today named Jeff King as the interim president of Northwestern Technical College. King will lead the college until a new president is named to replace outgoing President Ray Brooks, who retired from NTC to accept the president’s job at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, S.C. King is currently Northwestern Tech’s vice president of administration. “I’m very grateful that Jeff has agreed guide Northwestern Tech over the coming months,” said Jackson. “The college and its students, faculty and staff will be well-served by his years of experience and strong leadership skills.” In the coming weeks, Jackson will name a search committee for the new president that will be made up of business and community leaders from the area served by the college. The committee will screen and interview the applicants for the president’s job and then name their top three candidates for the position. The three finalists will interview with Jackson at the commissioner’s office in Atlanta. His selection for the college’s next president must then be approved by the state board that oversees the Technical College System of Georgia. The entire selection process is expected to take four to six months. ### |
