Purchasing
The Department of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE) complies with all federal and state laws, as well as regulations and procedures as established by the Executive Department and the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS). The Commissioner develops procedures for the implementation of this policy which applies to the Central Office and the technical college system.

All DTAE system purchases in excess of $25,000 and any change order or contract addendum which is either greater than $5,000 or would increase the total purchase or contract to an amount in excess of $25,000, are approved by the State Board of Technical and Adult Education; except change orders for capital outlay projects in excess of $5,000, providing the total amendments do not exceed 20% of the original contract cost. Quick Start contracts for personal services may be approved by the Commissioner.
