Commissioner Jackson Announces Promotion of Sharpsburg Resident Lisa Eason

Atlanta- Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Ron Jackson has announced the promotion of Lisa Eason, a resident of Sharpsburg, to the position of assistant commissioner of administration for the TCSG.

“Lisa is the personification in many ways of what our agency stands for and does every day,” said Jackson. “Her tenure at TCSG has been one of hard work, long hours, successful project implementations and building a strong commitment to serving the colleges as customers in all administrative areas.” Jackson adds, “Her leadership, tenacity and dedication to the organization make her uniquely qualified to serve as assistant commissioner of administration.”

Eason joined the TCSG in July 1999 as an accounting manager and was quickly promoted to director of accounting. In June 2003 she was promoted to her current position of executive director of administrative services. Prior to joining the TCSG, she served in position of accounting manager in the state Office of the Insurance Commissioner and, previous to that, as a state auditor in the Georgia Department of Audits.

She earned a BBA in accounting from the University of West Georgia in 1996.

The Technical College System of Georgia oversees 33 technical colleges throughout the state. In 2007, more than 140,000 students attended TCSC colleges, which offer small classes, hands-on experience and focused instructor attention in more than 600 programs, including healthcare, aerospace, agribusiness, life sciences, and much more.  The TCSG also manages the state’s adult education and GED programs as well as Quick Start, an economic development incentive for attracting new investment to the state and promoting job creation.
