GED Test in Georgia

What is the GED® Test?

The GED test is a four-subject high school equivalency test that measures skills required by high schools and requested by colleges and employers. The four subjects tested are Mathematical Reasoning, Science, Social Studies, and Reasoning Through Language Arts. You can learn more about the test from the GED Testing Service’s website at GED.com.

The GED test can be taken in person at a testing center or at home in a proctored environment. In-person testing is done through our network of testing centers.

The Online GED test requires a private room, a computer, camera, speakers, and an internet connection for the individual delivery of the test at home or in another secure location. The Online GED test is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Cost of the GED® Test

In Georgia, if you take the test in person or online, the cost if the same. It is $46 per subject or $184 for the full battery. You pay for the test when you schedule it through GED.com.

The State of Georgia offers free testing to eligible Georgia residents to cover the cost of GED® test fees through the HOPE High School Equivalency Examination Grant.
