HSE Testing in Spanish

In addition to English, both the GED® test and HiSET® exam are offered in Spanish. This includes all four subtests for GED and all five subtests for the HiSET. Test-takers can complete subject area tests in Spanish, English, or a mix of both. How do I select the Spanish version?

When you sign up to take a test through your myGED or myHiSET account, you will be asked to indicate Spanish or English for each subtest you are taking.

 

Preparing for the Test

Test preparation materials are available in Spanish. Learn more at the GED Marketplace website or the HiSET Resource Library. Your local library may also carry books or software that can help you prepare. Some websites have free materials available in Spanish. Here are a few:

Adult Education

Does the HOPE High School Equivalency (HSE) Grant cover the cost of testing in Spanish?

Yes, as long as you meet the eligibility requirements for the grant, it will cover the cost of testing in English or Spanish.

 

Will my transcript indicate if I took the test in English or Spanish?

According to our transcript provider, DiplomaSender, the transcript is written in English. The language the tests were taken in does not appear on the transcript.
