Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Instructional Aide / Facilitator positions (2) in the Academic Affairs division. These positions are located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta, as well as the South campus in Forest Park Georgia.  The Instructional Aide / Facilitator assists instructors with providing education and/or training to students.  Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG)’s Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.  Position may require travel within the college’s service area as well as additional travel, as needed.

Major responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  1. Serves as on-site monitor/proctor for distance education (telepresence) classes.
  2. Assists individuals in a computerized learning environment.
  3. Provides substitute teaching coverage as needed.
  4. Provides oversight to program students in the instructor’s absence by performing the following tasks: prepare instructional materials; maintain order and cleanliness in the learning environment; will use observational skills to remain aware of changes in the behavior and physical condition of students.
  5. Completes all assigned trainings in a timely manner.
  6. Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate a high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to applicants, who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Counseling, social work or a related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • Documented teaching experience at a postsecondary level.
  • Documented experience teaching or learning in a distance education environment.
