Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Civil Engineering Instructor/Program Coordinator position. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

  • Provides program administrative oversight
  • Leads the effort to secure program equipment and instructional resources
  • Develops a program advisory committee, which meets at least twice anually to provide program counsel
  • Completes annual Program Reviews, Student Learning Outcomes Assessment, Unit Planning and Budget Request.
  • Makes data driven decisions on program goals and strategies
  • Schedules program courses
  • Directly supervises adjunct faculty
  • Performs other administrative tasks as related to the management of the program
  • Provides program curriculum oversight
  • Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses
  • Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives
  • Conducts classroom and lab instruction
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area
  • Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts
  • Attends meeting, serves on committees, and performs other duties of services to the college and academic program
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree *and* Two (2) years related work experience Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D in Civil Engineering or related field. Teaching and curriculum development experience strongly desired. Academic program supervision desired.
