Conference Center Worker, Part Time
The Conference Center Worker position is to assist with public events on the Clarkesville and Currahee campuses in Clarkesville and Toccoa. Responsibilities include: setup and breakdown tables, chairs, stage, dance floor, audio, and visual equipment along with additional equipment and furniture according to assigned layout and event details. Performs housekeeping responsibilities. Remain on site during events and secure and close campus upon completion of event. Maintain organized conference center storage area with proper care of all equipment and supplies. Housekeeping responsibilities. Provide prompt and courteous service to both internal and external guests. Adhere to event safety standards. Requires a flexible schedule that may include weekends. Must have skills in basic computer, interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public, Oral and written communications, decision making and problem-solving skills, organizational skills and customer service. Position is nonexempt. This position will be expected to travel to both Clarkesville and Currahee campuses. Travel is dependent on events scheduled in the conference centers on these campuses. Evening and weekend hours required.
Perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, and walking. Full range of hand and finger motion is utilized for data entry purposes.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid GA Driver License
Preferred Qualifications in addition to minimum qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in the use of audio/visual computer systems
- Customer Service Skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Hourly Pay Rate/Benefits: $14.00 /No benefits
