Executive Director for Secondary Initiatives

 

Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks a full-time Executive Director for Secondary Initiatives for the primary responsibility for the leadership, vision, development, coordination, implementation, oversight, and execution of secondary initiatives at Athens Technical College. The Executive Director is responsible to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for the oversight of the college’s dual enrollment programs and courses taught on campus and at the career academies; the management and operations of the Dual Achieve Program; assist with acquiring and maintaining COGNIA accreditation; and promotes dual enrollment programs to secondary and community partners.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Establishes and directs secondary initiatives for course subject areas and student services
  • Works with instructional and administrative personnel to identify professional development needs
  • Formulates and implements operational procedures and practices for all secondary initiatives
  • Assists with acquiring and maintaining COGNIA accreditation and any other secondary education accreditation
  • Ensures the consistent exercise, review and revision of academic policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Oversees the maintenance of student records and student data
  • Work to ensure the consistent exercise of federal, state, college, and TCSG policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and other guidelines
  • Promotes secondary initiatives for K-12 partners, public, and private organizations, organizes advisory committees, and is involved with community partners
  • Works with Human Resources personnel to coordinate new faculty and staff hires; verifies appropriate qualifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field *and* Five (5) years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience sufficient to understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits and students in the department in order to direct work
  • Three (3 years of work experience in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE)
  • Three years of work experience in public secondary or charter school level leadership within Athens Technical College service area counties
  • Experience working with K -12 partnerships
