POSITION: Full-time Instructor – Computer Information Systems Technology
PRIMARY LOCATION: DeKalb/Newton/South DeKalb Campuses and/or Participating Area High Schools
DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Dean for the School of Business, Computer Information Systems & New Media, the Full-time Instructor will provide instruction to students in Computer Information Systems courses.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructor duties: Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques. Demonstrates the use of appropriate record-keeping required. Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge of current in-field procedures. Follows approved course syllabus. Completes all reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties. Position may involve day, evening, and/or online courses. Course availability may vary each semester.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field with 18 hours of graduate level CIS coursework “and” three (3) years of in field experience within the past 7 years.

Subject areas in need: Networking, CISCO, Databases.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in the teaching field and previous experience teaching at post-secondary level. National industry certifications in CISCO, Networking, Databases, and/or Programming. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

salary/benefits: The salary for this position ranges from $50,000 – $60,000 and will be based upon education, experience, and other qualifications. This is a full-time position with paid state holidays, accrued annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Health Flexible Benefits Program.
