POSITION: Instructor, Welding and Joining Technology

Primary Campus location: Bartow County College & Career Academy

POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position reports to the Associate Dean of Computers, Manufacturing and Engineering. Welding Instructors perform all aspects of instruction in their program areas. Instructors are responsible for developing and growing the program. Other duties required are creating syllabi, instructive videos, goals, and objectives. They evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. They request and maintain supplies and equipment, and they prepare budget requests. They maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate. They prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports. They attend faculty meetings, staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences. They ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area. They meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues. Instructors also assist with student advisement, recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Instructors who have dual enrolled students must report midterm grades/progress. Teaching assignments may include evening courses or classes at other campuses.

· This position is a Full-time, 12-month faculty position.

· Prior training or teaching experience is not required!

· We are looking for a welding professional who is ready to train the next generation of welders through hands-on learning experiences.

· This position requires teaching Chatt Tech Welding curriculum at the Bartow County College & Career Academy, located in Cartersville, GA, during Fall and Spring semesters. The primary student group for this instruction are the dual enrollees.

· During Summer semester, this position will teach Welding courses at either the Paulding Campus in Dallas, Ga, or the Appalachian campus in Jasper, GA.

· This instructor will work with other faculty members and academic leadership to meet department, division, and college goals.

· In addition to teaching, Welding Faculty members will advise students, track inventory, and maintain all instructional spaces (including the Welding lab).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Diploma in Welding

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (In addition to the minimum qualifications)

· Associate Degree in Welding or related field

· Appropriate Industry Certifications

· Experience in Postsecondary teaching

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary – $62,972. Benefits include: paid holidays, annual leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program, health insurance and retirement plans.
