POSITION: Phlebotomy Technology ADJUNCT Instructor
DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in the Phlebotomy Technology courses in the School of Health, Education and Professional Services.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques; use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other record-keeping required; effective use of oral and written communication skills; and knowledge of current in-field procedures. Follows approved course syllabus. Maintains program requirements, attend/complete all professional development training; meets with students and college personnel to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues. Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives.  Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution. Position will involve supervising students and teaching classes and labs at various time of the day and online classes as needed. The position may also require travel to any of the satellite locations within the College’s service area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ·        High School Diploma or GED.

·        Current Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician by a nationally recognized organization (e.g.: ASCP, AMT, NHCA, NCCT).

·        Two years paid full-time experience in a CLIA regulated clinical laboratory in the last 5 years.

·        Effective written and verbal communication skills.

·        Basic computer skills.

  • Experience in evaluating personnel performance and skill levels.

  • Associate’s degree in a health programs from a regionally accredited college or institution.
  • Teaching experience in a postsecondary level.
  • CPR Instructor License in BLS HeartSaver
salary/benefits: Salary is dependent on field and credentials for all Adjunct Faculty postings. Adjunct Faculty are temporary positions, scheduled based on class needs of the college. Adjunct Faculty will generally sign assignment acknowledgements which cover a single term at a time, and employment is not guaranteed.  Adjunct faculty members do not receive benefits and are scheduled as needed.  Adjunct Faculty work on a per-term basis, therefore future courses are not assured. Georgia Defined Contributions, Social Security and taxes will be deducted.
