Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Program Assistant (BPST) in the Business and Public Safety Technology division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Seeking a responsible, detail-oriented, self-motivated, reliable person to work in a fast-paced and high energy work environment with customer service and payroll processing experience. Responsibilities include assisting the Dean and the division with daily duties including but not limited to:

  • Performs and completes variety of tasks and assignments associated with routine support functions, special projects and administrative assistance for the Business and Public Safety division (BPST);
  • Provides secretarial and clerical support to the Dean and staff of the BPST division;
  • Serves as the liaison between the program / administrative / technical operation and the rest of the college; Proofreads and edits documents and relevant paperwork for content, context, accuracy and consistency;
  • Copies, distributes and files appropriate letters, memoranda, reports and other materials, as needed;
  • Prepares paperwork, sign-in sheets, copies and classroom materials for instructors;
  • Maintains classroom supplies and distributes materials, as needed;
  • Utilizes a variety of software to produce documents, spreadsheets, visual aids and promotional materials for the BPST division;
  • Assist instructors with managing attendance reports and records;
  • Manages databases and reports for instructional enhancements;
  • Maintains filing and record-keeping systems for the BPST division;
  • Conducts research using a variety of resources to generate reports, solve departmental issues and find new solutions;
  • Maintains office supply inventory for the BPST division; and
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Must possess and demonstrate a High School Diploma or equivalent AND six (6) months of related work experience.

Competencies Required:

  • Customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Excellent Communication skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them to meet deadlines and objectives;
  • Possesses the ability to work with others and can work within systems in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; and
  • Has the aptitude to be flexible in response to change and adapts to process change and accommodates new methods and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree or higher AND possess and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • 3-5 years of administrative/clerical experience,
  • Payroll experience;
  • Working knowledge of Banner;
  • Strong attention to detail and well organized;
  • Skill in basic conflict resolution;
  • Ability to work independently on specific projects; and
  • Knowledge of professional office practices, procedures equipment, and trends.
