ATLANTA, GA—Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Commissioner Matt Arthur has appointed a new president to lead Southern Regional Technical College. James “Jim” Glass, Provost at Southern Regional Technical College, has been named President of Southern Regional Technical College.

Glass has worked for Southern Regional Technical College for four years since merging with Moultrie Technical College in 2015 where he worked since 2003. Glass began his postsecondary career as Director of Instruction for Albany Technical College in 1999. Prior to his leadership roles at Georgia technical colleges, Glass spent 13 years in secondary education as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in Albany.

“Jim has dedicated his career to advancing opportunity for students through education,” said TCSG Commissioner Matt Arthur. “Whether as a teacher early in his career at Dougherty High School in the 1980s or in his latest position as provost at Southern Regional Technical College, Jim works every day to help students reach their full potential. He will be a great leader of the college to continue its legacy of developing a skilled workforce for the region.”

“I am honored to be chosen as Southern Regional Technical College’s next president,” said Glass. “It is an exciting time to be in technical education and I am committed to building a skilled workforce for business and industry while ensuring each and every person interested in pursuing postsecondary education at our college is given the opportunity to do so.”
