WorkSource Georgia employs specialized staff statewide—many of whom are veterans or service members—who are trained to assist military jobseekers in transitioning to civilian employment.

Eligible individuals work one-on-one with a Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist to develop a proactive employment plan and are connected to career center and community resources as needed to address barriers to obtaining and maintaining employment. Veterans who are job-ready are marketed to local employers through individualized advocacy and job development efforts led by Local Veterans’ Employment Representative (LVER) staff.

Transitioning Service Members, military veterans, and eligible spouses may also find additional support through local and national organizations offering job accommodation services, mental health services, housing and assisted living assistance, benefits counseling, and enrollment in government health benefits programs.
