Event Name: Disability Awareness in the COVID Environment
Purpose/Description: COVID has changed the way in which we deliver services to our WIOA Title I participants. Limited social interaction has significantly impacted our day-to-day service delivery system by abruptly forcing a transition from face-to-face services to mostly remote services. As a result, our new interactions with our participants are limited to phone and online communication. If we are not conscientious as to how this transition affects our participants and how to better serve them under these atypical circumstances, we might have ineffective or poor interactions with those we serve. This is especially true for participants with disabilities. The purpose of this training is to provide you with an increased awareness of how to serve individuals with disabilities in a remote service-delivery environment.
