College Military/Veteran Points of Contact (POCs)
The 22 TCSG colleges – many with full-time veteran’s assistance programs, veteran’s coordinators, and student veteran’s organizations – are committed to helping you and your family make the smooth transition from military service to civilian employment.
Concerned about the cost of college? You shouldn’t be. The tuition for more than 600 accredited college programs at the TCSG colleges is among the lowest in the Southeast. Combine that with your hard-earned military and veterans benefits as well as some great new grants from the State of Georgia, and you can obtain a world-class education at little expense to you. Plus, TCSG colleges have new financial initiatives specifically for military, veterans, and their families, including: an out-of-state tuition waiver for active duty military, their spouses and dependent children stationed in Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Veterans Service is an agency of state government created for the purpose of advising, counseling, and assisting Georgia’s veterans and their families in receiving their rightful benefits under the vast and complex framework of veterans’ laws.
The gavets.org mission is to serve as a trusted, comprehensive resource hub for veterans, their spouses, and dependents across the state of Georgia. The site is dedicated to supporting their successful transition to civilian life by connecting them with opportunities in post-secondary education, workforce development, and meaningful careers. In partnership with state agencies and community organizations, the site seeks to provide access to vital life services—including healthcare, housing, legal assistance, and other vital services—ensuring that every Georgia veteran and their family has the tools and resources they need to thrive in all aspects of life.
Georgia VECTR Center serves as a gateway for veterans’ re-entry into Georgia’s public post-secondary educational systems and workforce.
The Center provides unique, accelerated programs in high demand and strategic industries tailored to abbreviate the process of receiving post-secondary certificates and degrees by recognizing the extensive training veterans receive during their military service.
Through on-site partners (Georgia Department of Veterans Service, TCSG’s Office of Workforce Development, Department of Veterans Affairs and United Way/Mission United) the Center provides a one-stop-shop for veterans seeking benefits, educational opportunities, employment services and links to community resources.
The Superior Plumbing VECTR Center, located on the Marietta Campus, provides academic transition support for veteran students and their dependents and provides referral services for veteran community members. Representatives from various veteran support agencies will be on-site to offer assistance as well. Inside the building, veteran students can relax and enjoy the Jim Cunningham Veterans Lounge or meet with VA certifying official. Also housed in the Center is the Office of Career Development and the Counseling and Wellness department.
The COL Ralph Puckett Workforce Development Center is a purpose-built, student- and employer-centered hub of Columbus Technical College that connects veterans, service members, military families, and the broader Columbus community to education, credentials, and direct employment pathways. Operating as an extension of CTC and aligned with Georgia’s statewide VECTR network, the Puckett Center delivers flexible training, industry-driven programs, and wrap-around support that shorten the path from learning to meaningful work. By partnering with employers from the outset and focusing on high-demand, high-wage careers, the Center strengthens the regional workforce, retains military talent in the Chattahoochee Valley, and serves as a welcoming front door to opportunity for all who seek to learn, serve, and succeed.
