Position: Program Chair for Hotel, Restaurant, & Tourism Management and Culinary Arts
Location: Athens Campus and Walton Campus
Department: Division of Business, Industry, & Technology
Reports to: Divisional Academic Dean
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, develops program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
- Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Hotel, Restaurant, & Tourism Management and/or Culinary Arts courses.
- Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives.
- Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Requests and maintains supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests.
- Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
- Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
- Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
- Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
- Performs various duties as Program Chair
- Responsible for management of all adjunct personnel and provides all information to complete various departmental and college reports, and assure all programmatic standards are met.
- Responsible for Administrative duties related to student advisement, advisory committee meetings, and program development.
- Assists with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
- Conducts bi-annual industry advisory board meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Culinary/Food/Nutrition or a related field from an accredited college or technical institution with (18) eighteen graduate hours in the hospitality discipline.
- Three (3) years work experience in a position related to Hotel, Restaurant, & Tourism Management and/or Culinary Arts.
- Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of documented work experience in a position related to Hotel, Restaurant, & Tourism Management and/or Culinary Arts.
- ServSafe Manager certification.
- Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Previous online teaching or training experience, including the use of video capture tools.
